Learn some fun facts about Debra in this short Q&A. Leave a question on the blog for a chance to win either The Longest Silence or There Once Was a Child (Releases 04/09/18)!

1. What genre(s) do you write?
I write romantic suspense and dark psychological suspense. I love both!

2. Coffee or tea lover?
I love coffee but I won’t turn down a nice cup of tea. But, to tell you the truth, my favorite tea is sweet, on ice with a wedge of lemon!

3. Name one thing on your bucket list.

To travel the places in Europe where we were stationed when my husband was in the military.

4. Do you have pets?

Oh yes! Our sweet beagle, Smokey! And, of course, we have grandpups. Our oldest daughter has three: Kisses, Yoda and Spencer. Our youngest has a big old lab: Samson.

5. When I wake up every morning I...
Sit down at the computer and start in on whatever story I’m working on!

6. Weirdest or unique thing you own.

The purse my mother was carrying the final days of her life. I keep it closed up in a box. Even after all these years when I open that box I can still smell her perfume.

7. Do you have any hobbies or particular skills?

Renovating old houses and repurposing junk. I love old stuff!

8. What do you hope readers will experience or gain when reading your stories?
I hope they will fall in love with the characters and think of them often. My greatest wish is for my readers to enjoy the experience of the story.

9. What inspired you to write THE LONGEST SILENCE and THERE ONCE WAS A CHILD?

I love writing really strong female characters. I did this in my Faces of Evil series and I’ve continued that theme in my Shades of Death series. The tragedies that have befallen the main characters in THE LONGEST SILENCE allowed me to really explore their painful journey toward survival
The painful histories of the main characters in THERE ONCE WAS A CHILD pushed me to the limit emotionally. I cannot read this story—no matter that I wrote it—without crying.

The Longest Silence

A killer stole her voice. Now she's ready to take it back. Don't miss the chilling Shades of Death series from USA TODAY bestselling author Debra Webb.

Joanna Guthrie was free. She had been for eighteen years--or so she needed everyone to believe. What really happened during the longest fourteen days of her life, when she and two other women were held captive by a dangerous serial killer, wasn't something she could talk about. Not after what they had to do to survive.

But when more women go missing in an eerily similar manner, Jo knows her prolonged silence will only seal their fates. She's finally ready to talk; she just needs someone to listen. FBI special agent Tony LeDoux can't deny he finds Jo compelling--he's just not sure he believes her story. But with the clock ticking, Jo will do anything to convince him, even if it means unearthing long-buried secrets that will land them squarely in the crosshairs of the killer...

There Once Was a Child

Pre-order (Releases 04/09/18)

A sexual predator recently released from prison is missing…there’s blood on the floor—but there are two blood types. Is he a victim of revenge or has another of Nashville’s children gone missing?

Joseph Fanning stole and abused seventeen children. Recently released after serving his time, now he’s gone missing. Detective Olivia Newhouse and her partner, Walt Duncan, have a duty to do all within their power to find him—just as they would for any other citizen. The first step is to make a list of possible suspects and the logical names to start with are Fanning's victims. Those seventeen children are now adults and more than one would like to see Joseph Fanning dead.

As Olivia and Walt dig deeper into the case their own lives begin to unravel. The fragile threads of discovery start to twist and tangle until nothing is as it seems.

When the one victim who knows the whole truth is revealed, no one will be the same.
