1. What genre(s) do you write?
Sweet romance, sweet romantic comedy, sexy traditional sports romances

2. Coffee or tea lover?
Coffee all the way (although currently, I have a glass of iced tea on my desk)

3. Name one thing on your bucket list.

Travel to Ireland and Scotland

4. Do you have pets?

5. When I wake up every morning I...roll out of bed, make espresso, and go to the gym. Must. Fight. Writer’s. Butt.

6. Weirdest or unique thing you own.
Hand crank phonograph and a record collection. It was my grandmother’s and still works.

7. Do you have any hobbies or particular skills?
I am relearning how to knit and not doing a good job of it, which makes me a little bonkers. But between writing and becoming a grandma this year, knitting hasn’t been a priority.

8. What do you hope readers will experience or gain when reading your stories?

Laugh a little, cry a little, sigh a little. And hopefully, there’s a character that stays with them long after they close the book.

9. What inspired you to write “The Rancher’s Redemption”?
I love to write about heroes who’ve made some mistakes in the past and make amends in the story. It’s hard enough to admit you made a mistake, much less try to redeem yourself. Like many of us, Ben went with the flow when he was younger, instead of following his instincts and doing the right thing.

Prior to writing romance, award-winning, USA Today bestseller Melinda Curtis was a junior manager for a Fortune 500 company, which meant when she flew on the private jet she was relegated to the jump seat—otherwise known as the potty. After grabbing her pen (and a parachute) she made the jump to full-time writer. Between writing sweet romance for Harlequin and indie-pubbed sweet romantic comedy, Melinda finds time to bond with her husband over home remodeling projects (she owns her own sledgehammer). She recently came to grips with the fact that she’s an empty nester and a grandma, concepts easier to grasp than jet-setting on a potty.

    1. Our son named Tally after some video game character (she's the blonde). My husband named Duke after his favorite men's college basketball team. My other son named Trixie after watching the Speed Racer movie. He said something redeemable had to come out of his 90 minutes of time (lol, he didn't like the movie)

    1. There was a lot of internal office politics that wasn't healthy. I was told I'd be interviewed for a director's job, but then the next week they hired someone in the position to be my boss. I had to train HIM (it was that kind of company) and I got tired of fastening a seat belt on the potty.

    1. I've always written short stories. And then I discovered a typed manuscript my grandmother had written that had been rejected. At the time, I was reading a Susan Crosby book (she's now retired). She had a PO box very near me (we live in the middle of almost nowhere in Central California). I wrote to her and asked her how to become a writer. She urged me to join the Romance Writers of America (which has fabulous courses on craft and the business of writing, plus offers networking with editors and agents).

    1. Hey, Vera, I began trying to write romance in 1998 officially. I made my first sale to Harlequin in 2001 or 2002 (who can remember that far back). 50 books later...
