1. What genre(s) do you write?
Contemporary romance with heat and heart.
2. Coffee or tea lover?
Tea all the way, baby! I make it in a French press and drink it all day long.

3.  Name one thing on your bucket list.

Successfully riding a wave while standing up on a surfboard. So far, I can sit on a board in flat water for about a minute without tipping over. So I'm making progress!

4. Do you have pets?
Nope, no pets. At least not at the moment.

5. When I wake up every morning I... tell myself I shouldn't check my iPhone yet but do it anyway.

6. Weirdest or unique thing you own.
I'm a ridiculously indecisive person, and someone once told me about a way to use a crystal pendant to help you make decisions. So I have one, and I do use it. And I swear it works!

7. Do you have any hobbies or particular skills?
I can run a chainsaw! Living in Alaska, I've picked up some handy survival skills like making fires and filleting the fish we catch. (This shot is from salmon-fishing on the Kenai River.) The chainsaw is very empowering.
8. What do you hope readers will experience or gain when reading your stories?
I hope they feel optimistic about coming through tough times and finding happiness! Not just in a romantic sense, but also within yourself--which is just as important, if not more so.

9. What inspired you to write TOO HOT TO HANDLE?
Cassie and Kevin are two people who have sacrificed in order to take care of people they love (in Cassie's case, her mother, in Kevin's, his teenage daughter.) The theme of the book is allowing yourself to reach for love, and overcoming that sense that maybe you don't deserve it. Because you do!

After his wild daredevil past, he’s sworn off relationships until Holly turns eighteen. Just three more years. No problem; he’s got this under control. Until a chance encounter with a smart, sassy bombshell—who just happens to be his new boss’s sister.

Now, with her brother closing in on their father’s killer, Cassie’s free to pursue her own happiness for the first time. Enter smart, sexy, funny Kevin O’Donnell.

Of course they’ll have to keep it light. There’s a big off-limits sign on Kevin’s heart, and Cassie’s ready to hit the road the minute her father’s killer is found. She can do light—no problem. But she didn’t count on their sizzling chemistry…Holly’s suddenly odd behavior…and a killer who’s more cunning than the Knight family ever suspected. Too hot to handle? 1. I've used a chainsaw but just once to try it out. I'm also coming to Alaska in June/July this year. To celebrate out 30th Anniversary we are taking a cruise and then spending 3 days on land. I'm so excited to see Alaska.

    1. Ha! Good question. We spend part of the winter in Hawaii, so that's where the surfing happens. :-) I've barely ever dipped a toe in the ocean in Alaska!

  5. Love your books Jennifer. I'd be afraid to use a chainsaw as they are as big as me. I've been to the southern portion of Alaska but I'm guessing it's a lot different where you live.

  7. I cannot say I have ever run a chainsaw. But I can say that most all power tools are empowering. Its awesome using a power tool to get up tile or cut wood or a drill press....Love them!!!
